As I mentioned Indonesia Unite, most of you must be wondering what Indonesia Unite is.
So, this is the answer. Indonesia Unite is a movement started in Twitter as response to Jakarta bombing few years ago. July, 17th 2009. Nine days after Indonesian election day and two days before the arrival of Manchester United tour to Indonesia. A suicidal bomb exploded in JW Marriott Hotel and Ritz Carlton Hotel. The place where the Manchester United team and Indonesia All Stars team will get their sleep.
The objective of the online movement via Twitter is to say that we, Indonesian people are not afraid of the terror and will still love Indonesia, and to prove that Indonesia is not a country of origin of terrorists. So as the result, the hashtag of #IndonesiaUnite listed as trending topic (local trending topic has not yet implemented by Twitter) in three days a row. And the news spread up fast as CNN (yes, that CNN) reported this followed by local news companies.
#IndonesiaUnite is not a terrorist fighting movement, but a movement to change Indonesia to be a better Indonesia. As a movement to change Indonesia, this movement is currently takes place mostly offline and spread up across Indonesia and oftenly is not reported in mainstream medias.
